Why the name Filthy Heathen?
Why not? I’m not religious, I’m not a Christian in a so-called “Christian country”. Buddhism seems quite nice but yet it doesn’t quite hit the spot for me as a Brit. Being a Jedi would be cool and yet there’s got to be something more appropriate for a denizen of the British Isles…
And so I tend to identify myself as a pagan. That doesn’t mean I’ll cheerily say “Merry meet” when we first connect and I won’t be wearing tie-died t-shirts, hoodies with wolves on, grow my hair long or call myself a witch.
So the self-deprecating, defiantly non-Abrahamic term of filthy heathen it is.
What is the Filthy Heathen Website for?
This is my place on the world wide web to deposit my thoughts and ideas on heathenism and paganism. In fact, it’s more about the wider philosophy of being atheist, agnostic, or pantheist. After all, there were supposedly lots of gods before monotheism took root, so what happened to them all?
